Do you have a child who will be 5 years old by September 1, 2018? Please attend an information session about Kindergarten in the Howard County Public School System.

Choose a session that is convenient for you. No registration required.  Child care is available at each session for children ages 2 and older; the session is designed for adults only.  Large crowd anticipated; please allow ample time for parking, childcare drop off and check in. Doors open at 6 pm.

If HCPSS are closed for inclement weather, the session is canceled.

All sessions begin promptly at 6:30 pm

Oakland Mills HS sponsors a Food Pantry on the 3rd Thursday of each month.  

What? A safe place for community members in need to access food.

Where? Oakland Mills High School- Enter through the set of double doors on the righ hand side of the front of the building.

When? The last Thursday of each month 3-5 pm (12/21, 1/25, 2/22, 3/29, 4/26, 5/31)

What to Bring? A form of identification

Attention all parents of PreK or Kindergarten students at Cradlerock Elementary--Reading and Math Night is on Monday December 11th at 5:30pm at Cradlerock Elementary. Judy Center is partnering with Title I to bring special activities to the PreK and Kindergarten students. Activities also available for 1st- 5th graders. Optional dinner served at 5:30. Program begins at 6 pm.

Take a grand adventure with a heroic little girl who saves the day in Peru. Fall in love with a generous boy from India who helps others and wins his heart's desire. This vibrant style of storytelling is perfect for all ages!
 

The Howard County Diaper Bank opened in Spring of 2017 at the Howard County Food Bank located at 9385 Gerwig Lane, Columbia, MD. It is sponsored by many different Howard County Organizations that serve families and children (including the Judy Center!).

Did you know-- Diapers can cost $70 to $80 a month? Diapers can’t be bought with food stamps or WIC? People without small children rarely think about diapers and are often surprised; it is a silent crisis in the U.S. as nearly 1 in 3 families in America struggle to afford diapers for their children.

Judy Center 2- 4 yr olds made a healthy perfect parfait snack on October 23rd with guidance from University of Maryland Extension Program's "Read for Health" Program. A few participants experienced eating yogurt for the very first time! Children listened to and took home a book about eating food mindfully.

Interim Superintendent Dr. Martirano visited the Judy Center on October 25th and expressed his support of the Judy Center Partnership's focus on supporting children and families 0-5 yrs.
