Donate Now to the Diaper Bank

We are so excited to announce the opening of Howard County Diaper Bank this Spring 2017!  This is a resource many of our CRES families will be able to access...And we need your help!

Did you know--

  • Diapers can cost $70 to $80 a month?
  • Diapers can't be bought with food stamps or WIC?
  • People without small children rarely think about diapers and are often surprised; it is a silent crisis in the U.S. as nearly 1 in 3 families in America struggle to afford diapers for their children.
  • Most childcare programs require parents to provide diapers, so parents without sufficient diapers cannot leave their children in childcare to attend work or school.

As the holidays approach...

Please consider making a monetary donation to help stock the Diaper Bank!

Donations can be made on-line through Community Action Council's website:

The kick-off event for the HCPSS Teacher Induction Program is our New Teacher Orientation (NTO) that will be held Aug. 16-19, 2016 at Marriotts Ridge High School. Late hires from the previous school year and new hires for 2016-17 are paid a daily stipend for attending NTO.  Teachers returning from leave or changing grade levels or content areas are also welcome to attend.  (Newly hired staff receive a daily stipend of $50 for attending.)
